Puppy Development Stages |
|
To keep from becoming frustrated with your puppy as he/she develops into a dog, it is very important to recognize the developmental stages that all dogs go through. If you key in and give proper socialization and stimuli, you can have a loving friend for life. Many puppies are discarded at the time when they need love and attention the most, which is very sad. Investigate dog and puppy training facilities in your area and get your puppy enrolled in Puppy Kindergarten as soon as they have their second shots, around 9-10 weeks. It’s great fun for your new puppy and also for you. In fact, training is addictive. You don’t have to be aspiring for competition, but the bond you create with your dog will pay you back many times over. Because puppies often need mid-day playtime or an exercise walk while you are at work, do consider getting a pet sitter to help them get rid of that pent up energy and have a potty break. Plus, there are times when emergencies arise and if you have a plan in place with a reputable pet sitter to come to your home, you don’t have to add that to the stresses of the moment. Before you know it, the cuddly little fur ball will be a long legged adolescent and then a gorgeous adult Mini Aussie. Enjoy each step along the way and make the best of it for a healthy and well adjusted pet.
